Timing…
It is a hard concept to grasp, but I feel like it is something that is a prevalent thought floating around every ones head. Timing. This idea can be related to anything in this world, but today I will relate it to “Love”.
You hear many stories from friends and random college mates about how to approach a given situation that incorporates a guy, a girl, and emotions. There are few strategies people use for this given situation. Some guys like to just approach the girl. Waiting for nothing to stop them or hold them back. There are also guys who just wait it out and test the waters. Hoping that one day she will or time will tell him when the right moment is to say to the girl that he has a thing for her.
For me, I have always been a wait it out; test the waters type of person. Even though this is the strategy I use, it has back fired on me on occasion. I have tried to learn from my mistakes, but sometimes it is fear that stops me or another emotion that I can’t think of at this time.
Believe it or not timing is everything in this world of emotions. It is sad to say but the one time a person is the weakest is when they are vulnerable. Most of the time people have this shield in front of them that hides their true side. This is why I feel that a lot of guys don’t get chances with girls out of their “league” because they think they themselves are too good for the guy. During that one moment when their shield is dropped, a girl or guy are most vulnerable and are able to express true emotion and accept it as well. This can be a good thing and a bad thing. There are creeps, jerks, assholes who take advantage of the vulnerability of those girls to get some, but there are also those guys that dropped their shield for that one moment and approached the girl with no fear.
Testing the waters is something I have began to hate. Sometimes a guy just has to man up and approach the girl the first time he feels something. You never know when that girl is feeling vulnerable and is letting her emotions out and you are not there to express those feelings back. It is sad to think of it in this manner, but in a way this is true in life.
You might just miss your one chance to step in and spit some of your best game to some guy who just had good timing. That would just mean all the hard work or effort you put in for the past week or two or month while you were testing to water would be a waste.
So guys, man up. Don’t wait. At least you will know the truth, which is better than holding it off for too long.
